City of Hope is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant for the Paces Ferry location in Georgia. The role supports clinical staff, interacts with patients and caregivers, and handles vital signs, vaccines, and EMR documentation.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a registered/certified Medical Assistant with current BLS. Work hours are 8am–5pm, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.

  • Ability to obtain and document vital signs and vaccines as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers compassionate care to patients by assisting with clinical tasks and providing direct interaction with patients and caregivers.
  • Obtains and documents vital signs, glucose, pain levels, patient data, and medication lists; performs peripheral lab draws and administers vaccines.
  • Reports any changes in patient status to the licensed nurse, physician, or AP provider.
  • Documents care delivered and data collected in the medical record.
  • Answers phones courteously and assists with clinic pre-appointment reminders.
  • Enters provider orders into the EMR; coordinates prescription refills as directed.
  • Distributes educational information for patient care and tests as directed by the provider.

This is a PRN position with Hours 8am-5pm M-W-Th.

  • Delivers compassionate care to patients by assisting with clinical tasks, preforming support services for clinical staff and providing direct interaction with patients and their caregivers
  • Obtains and documents vital signs, blood sugars, pain levels, patient data, and medication lists. Performs peripheral lab draws and administers vaccines including influenza and pneumococcal
  • Reports to the licensed nurse, physician, or advanced practice provider any changes in patient status, behavior, and abnormal findings of data or incidents
  • Documents accurately in the medical record the care that was delivered, activities completed, and other data that is collected for the patient
  • Answer phones courteously, collaborates with nurse and/or provider to manage phone calls, and makes clinic pre-appointment reminder calls to patients
  • Enters orders into the electronic medical record on behalf of the provider at the direction of the provider
  • Coordinates prescription refills and requests as directed/ordered by provider
  • Distributes educational information and instructions for patient care, diagnostics, and treatments to patients and caretakers as directed by provider in preparation for tests, procedures and treatments
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years prior experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
Licensure Requirements
  • MUST be a registered or certified Medical Assistant
  • Current BLS required
