Community Health Centers of America (CHCA) seeks a full-time Medical Assistant for our Sacramento clinic. The role combines back-office clinical support with front-office administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations. Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional travel to nearby sites for training or staffing needs.

Ideal candidate has MA certification, 2 years of MA experience, BLS, and a willingness to travel to other sites. FQHC experience is preferred; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification required.
• 2 years Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• FQHC experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Bilingual fluency preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsabilités

• Reception, answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate with insurers for billing.
• Assist patients with registration and maintain medical records.
• Data entry for patient billing, transcription and claims processing.
• Arrange referrals and process prescription requests.
• Measure vitals and prepare patients for exams; assist clinicians.
• Phlebotomy, basic labs, EKGs and equipment maintenance.
• Administer medications as authorized by providers.

Providing accessible and affordable healthcare for all, today and every day. CHCA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team at our Sacramento clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility with back office clinical support and front office administrative support, as needed. The regular work schedule will be Monday - Friday. Primarily will work at this site and may be asked to go to nearby sites for training or staffing support.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Duties:

• Reception, answer phones and schedule appointments
• Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
• Assist patients with registration forms and maintain accurate files and medical records
• Perform data entry related to patient billing, transcription, and insurance claims
• Arrange for referrals
• Process prescription requests
• Track inventory and supplies
• Follow legal and ethical standards in all tasks

Clinical Duties

• Measure and record vital signs, patient interview, history and chief complaint
• Provide patient education on medication, disease management, home treatment and special diets
• Prepare patients for examination and perform routine screening tests and assist healthcare providers with exams
• Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens, perform basic lab tests and EKGs, assist with x-rays and procedures
• Prepare and administer medications with healthcare provider's authorization
• Change dressing, apply bandages, remove sutures, perform CPR and other first aid procedures
• Maintain supplies and equipment, stock and sterile instruments

Requirements

8aQualifications:

• Medical Assistant (MA) certification
• 2 years Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Primary care experience preferred
• FQHC exp preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Bilingual fluency preferred
• Effective organizational and communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to needs of the clinic
• Willingness to travel to other site, when needed
• High school diploma or equivalent
