Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists in Richmond is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our podiatry team and support physicians in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You will take vitals, prepare patients for exams, document in the EMR, and assist with minor procedures while ensuring HIPAA compliance and delivering excellent patient service.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused.
• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

US F oot & Ankle Specialists is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. If you enjoy working directly with patients, supporting physicians, and being part of a team, we'd love to meet you!

You'll work alongside our podiatrists providing hands-on patient care in a professional, fast-paced outpatient setting. Hands-on training and ongoing clinical training are provided, making this a great opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant or someone looking to grow their clinical skills.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
