Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our podiatry practice. You will work closely with our physicians to deliver hands-on patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

We provide hands-on and ongoing clinical training, making this a great opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant or someone eager to grow their clinical skills. This full-time role may require travel between local locations and offers competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • MA program completion or 1+ year clinical experience required
  • CMA or RMA certification preferred
  • Experience with medical terminology
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment
  • Detail-oriented, professional, patient-focused
  • Ability to travel between local office locations
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Responsibilities

  • Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and procedures
  • Take vitals, document medical histories, and record medications/allergies in the EMR
  • Assist physicians with minor procedures and post-op care
  • Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient education
  • Manage lab specimens, verifications, pre-authorizations, and prescriptions
  • Make post-operative calls and provide patient support
  • Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage supplies
  • Maintain documentation and HIPAA compliance

Job description

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. If you enjoy working directly with patients, supporting physicians, and being part of a team, we'd love to meet you!

You'll work alongside our podiatrists providing hands-on patient care in a professional, fast-paced outpatient setting. Hands-on training and ongoing clinical training are provided, making this a great opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant or someone looking to grow their clinical skills.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
  • Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
  • Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
  • Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services
  • Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
  • Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
  • Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
  • Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
  • Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance
Required Skills and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience
  • CMA or RMA certification preferred
  • Experience with medical terminology
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment

  • Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed

Pay Range:

$20 - $23 per hour, based on experience
