Job summary

Dignity Health seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to support daily patient and clinical operations. You will prepare patient charts, assist with exams, relay physician instructions, and manage vital sign measurements while coordinating with providers, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and complete a formal Medical Assistant program, with CPR/BLS at hire.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability. This position is represented by the SEIU-UHW.

As our Medical Assistant, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability. This position is represented by the SEIU-UHW. Every day you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills. To be successful in this role, you must have an enthusiasm to help others and the ability to work efficiently and provide empathy for our patients.

  • Prepping patients for their examinations or procedures
  • Accurately obtains, interprets, and documents all patient vital signs
  • Keeps patients informed about appointment delays and offers solutions every 10 minutes
  • Participates in and supports team and department based meetings and projects
  • Utilizes work time efficiently through proper time management
  • Initiates and offers ideas and solutions when problems arise
Required
Job Requirements
  • High School Graduate General Studies or GED
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation H.R. department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Pay Range

$25.00 - $27.38 /hour
