Job summary

Quality Talent Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support examination and treatment under physician direction. You will manage patient flow, document vital signs and histories, and prepare charts in the EMR, ensuring accurate records and efficient processes.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program credential or equivalent experience, high school diploma, and BLS certification, plus strong communication and clinical skills to support a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant program graduate or prior Medical Assisting experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer, communication, and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment of patients under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decision-making.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions and procedures as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment for routine tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality and patient experience standards.
