Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Group in Phoenix is seeking a Medical Assistant to keep daily operations running smoothly for patients and clinical teams. You will proactively prepare patient charts and ensure all information is current for daily visits, with multiple patients depending on physician on-site.

Responsibilities include assisting during exams, retrieving equipment, preparing patients, and completing forms. BLS CPR and EMR experience preferred; Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or U.S. Armed Forces medical services training; equivalency by 2000 hours supervision may apply.
• Experience with computer programs used for patient check-in and scheduling required.
• American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hospital standards and collect laboratory specimens per protocol.
• Assist nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested.
• Retrieve equipment and supplies as needed for patient care and chart prep.
• Assist in patient and equipment preparation.
• Perform follow-up actions as directed.
• Complete hospital forms per protocol.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

• Maintains hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collects laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol
• Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested
• Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation
• Performs follow-up actions as directed
• Completes hospital forms per protocol

Job Requirements Required

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. and a graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program. Candidates who completed a program prior to February 2, 2000 can satisfy the minimum education requirements by providing evidence of direct supervision by the same physician, physician group, or physician assistant for a minimum of 2000 hours to satisfy the education requirements
• Demonstrated experience with computer programs utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients required
• American Heart Association BLS CPR

Preferred

• Previous MA experience
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
• Previous experience in designated specialty
• Bilingual skills
