Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Cardiology outpatient clinic in Paris, KY. The MA will provide direct patient care and clinical support, including vital signs, history, medication reconciliation, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vaccine administration.

The role requires on-site presence with orientation and potential sign-on bonus eligibility for new hires meeting criteria. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal Medical Assistant training program or a minimum of one year of direct, hands-on patient care in a clinical setting.
• Must complete MA orientation; MA Trainee Program for those not meeting standards.
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document patient history.
• Reconcile medications and process medication requests.
• Coordinate tests and procedures; schedule appointments.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and basic clinic procedures.
• Support providers and maintain efficient patient flow and EPIC records.

BHMG Cardiology Paris, KY Bonus Available Sign-on bonus is reserved for new hires meeting eligibility criteria.

The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support within an outpatient clinic.

• obtaining vital signs

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to ensure efficient patient care and support for providers.

This role requires regular on-site presence to perform the essential job functions.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of a formal Medical Assistant training program or a minimum of one year of direct, hands‑on patient care in a clinical setting, such as obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, and performing clinic procedures (e.g. EKGs, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines).
• Upon hire, all Medical Assistants will undergo a clinical competency assessment and must successfully complete MA orientation. Those who do not meet the required standards will be enrolled in the Medical Assistant (MA) Trainee Program for further development and reevaluation.
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Requirements

• Current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT or AAMP OR active Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
