Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • BLS/CPR certification required or obtainable within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake including vitals, medical history review, and chief complaint documentation.
  • Assist providers with allergy skin testing and pulmonary function testing.
  • Prepare and administer allergy immunotherapy injections and monitor patients post-injection.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR.
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms and ensure equipment is clean and calibrated.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens including blood draws and nasal smears.
  • Educate patients and families on allergy/asthma management plans and medications.
  • Coordinate with front office on scheduling, prior authorizations, and patient follow-up.
  • Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic infection control standards.
  • Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant plays a key role in delivering high-quality patient care under the supervision of our providers. You will support clinical operations from patient intake through treatment, with a focus on allergy and asthma‑specific procedures including allergy testing and immunotherapy. This is a full‑time, Monday through Friday position with daytime hours—no nights, no weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient intake including vitals, medical history review, and chief complaint documentation
  • Assist providers with allergy skin testing (scratch/intradermal), patch testing, and pulmonary function testing (spirometry)
  • Prepare and administer allergy immunotherapy injections per physician protocols; monitor patients post‑injection
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms; ensure equipment is clean, calibrated, and ready for use
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens including blood draws and nasal smears
  • Educate patients and families on allergy/asthma management plans and medication instructions
  • Coordinate with front office on scheduling, prior authorizations, and patient follow‑up
  • Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic infection control standards
  • Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
