Job summary

Medical Center Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Primary Care Providers in delivering quality care. The role includes cross-training to assist with clerical tasks, waived testing, and phlebotomy.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, MA program certificate, and are working toward AMT Registry; six months MA experience with ambulatory exposure is preferred, plus current BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate from an accredited medical assistant program (Associate Degree/Ladder Curriculum).
• In process to receive American Medical Technologists Registry.
• Minimum six months experience as a MA; one year ambulatory preferred.
• Current BLS Certification required thru the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.

Job description

Qualifications

Education

High School graduate or equivalent. Must have certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program (Associate Degree/Ladder Curriculum). In the process of completing the requirements and qualifications to receive American Medical Technologists Registry.

Training and Experience

Minimum of six months experience working as a MA; one year of experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. Bilingual abilities desirable but not mandatory. Current BLS Certification required thru the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.

Unusual Physical Demands And Working Conditions

Full range of body motion including lifting and handling patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires correct vision and hearing to normal ranges. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 25 pounds. Requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours. Travel to out of town satellite clinics required as needed.
