Job summary

Cornerstone Treatment Facilities in Fresh Meadows, Queens, New York is seeking two part-time Medical/Nurse Assistants to join the Admitting department. This 24/7 operation requires weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled.

Responsibilities include assisting nursing staff with patient care, transfers and admitting procedures, monitoring vital signs, keeping a clean environment, and potential blood specimen handling under supervision.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in nursing or patient care.
• Satisfactorily completed nursing assistant or medical assistant program.
• Ability to build rapport with patients.
• Compassionate and caring demeanor.
• Mental Health or Substance Abuse facility experience preferred.
• Must be computer literate.
• CPR certification (or obtain within 30 days from date of hire).

Job description

A substance abuse treatment facility located in Fresh Meadows, Queens New York is seeking two part-time Medical/Nurse Assistants to work in the Admitting department. We are a 24 hour-7 day week operation. You will work alongside fellow caregivers to provide high-quality patient care.This position is scheduled to work weekends and holidays when scheduled.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide patient care under the direction of nursing staff
• Assist in the transfer and admitting procedures
• Responsible for vital signs/triage
• Maintain a clean and healthy environment
• May be required to draw and process blood specimen
