Job description

Position Summary

As a Medical Assistant, you will balance the needs of patients and maintain efficient workflow of the office while providing support to the physician throughout all facets of medical procedures – before, during, and after. You will also ensure that patients receive an excellent service experience.

Position Details

• Location: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday work in our New Orleans clinic.
• Schedule: Part‑time with one Saturday shift per month.
• Compensation: $22.00‑$25.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
• Must be able to train out‑of‑state for the first two weeks; travel expenses paid by company.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms; assist with completion of forms.
• Become familiar with clinic computer hardware and software and comply with company policies.
• Answer multiple‑line and multiple‑language telephone lines.
• Schedule appointments and accommodate patient appointment needs, including arranging transportation and rescheduling.
• Perform clerical work as needed, such as copying, filing, and faxing.
• Maintain procedure rooms, ensuring they remain neat and ready for use.
• Assist doctors during Endovenous Laser Therapy procedures in accordance with instructions and individual doctor preferences.
• Prepare patients before procedures and clean up afterward.
• Ensure patients receive post‑procedure instructions and guidance on obtaining medication if needed.
• Prepare IV solution.
• Apply knowledge of sterile techniques and OSHA regulations.
• Train new staff and assist ultrasound staff as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred.
• Two to three years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
