Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant for a brand-new center in New Canaan, CT. You will support providers with exams and treatments, perform vital signs and diagnostic tests, and handle front-office duties to ensure a smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems.
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality, safety, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments while ensuring a smooth patient experience.
• Perform vital signs, wound care, diagnostic testing (e.g., EKG, PCR), and specimen collection.
• Administrative support: manage patient records and front office tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment and train new staff as needed.
