Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care in New Canaan, CT is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a brand-new center. You will support providers with exams, procedures, and treatments while ensuring a compassionate patient experience.

The role includes vital signs, wound care, EKGs, PCR testing, specimen collection, and essential front-office support. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and familiarity with EHR/EMR systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems.
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments, ensuring a smooth, compassionate patient experience.
• Take vital signs, wound care, and diagnostic testing (e.g., EKG, PCR) and specimen collection.
• Provide administrative support: manage patient records, handle correspondence, and assist front office operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment and contribute to training of new staff.

Your Role as a Medical Assistant:
