Woodruff Institute Llc in Naples, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Dermatology and Facial Plastic Surgery practice in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This full-time role supports clinical staff by greeting patients, preparing examinations, and assisting with procedures while following HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, certification as a Medical Assistant, and 1–3 years of experience; bilingual English preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant required; recredentialing every two years.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to examination rooms.
• Interview patients to verify demographics and medical history.
• Prepare patients for examinations or procedures.
• Record examinations, document plans, and complete coding.
• Administer injections and wound care as needed.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $22.00 Annually

Our team is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join our growing Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery practice. The person in this position is part of the team concept in The Woodruff Institute’s health delivery system, which is devoted to the delivery of the highest quality dermatologic and aesthetic care in an outpatient clinical setting, with emphasis on personalized, quality care in an elegant environment.

The individual in this position is a member of a team for The Woodruff Institute’s health delivery system providing the highest quality dermatologic and aesthetic care in an out-patient clinical setting, with emphasis on personalized, quality care in an elegant environment. S/he will assist the clinical staff in performing their duties and carrying on the necessary functions required in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Essential functions

• Complete start-of-day tasks as assigned
• Greet and escort patients to examination rooms
• Interview patient to verify demographics, medical history and purpose of visit
• Prepare patient for examination or surgical procedures
• Record physical examinations, document assessments/plans, complete diagnostic coding
• Complete lab slips and other forms as necessary
• Perform wound dressing changes, suture removals, prepare and administer injections
• Educate patients regarding treatment procedures, medications, and physician’s instructions
• Follow universal precautions to protect patients, providers and self
• Send electronic prescriptions as necessary
• Abide by HIPAA rules by completing and safeguarding medical records while maintaining confidentiality
• Abide by OSHA rules to clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
• Assist with patient phone calls and/or emails as necessary
• Complete end-of-day tasks as assigned

Work environment

Required education and experience

• High School diploma or GED required

Preferred education and experience

• Associate degree or higher

Additional eligibility requirements

• Certification as a Medical Assistant, recredentialing required every two years.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide the necessary documents of identification and authorization.
