Job summary

Florida Dermatologic Surgery & Aesthetics Institute is seeking a dependable Medical Assistant to join our busy dermatology practice. The role supports providers with patient care, dermatologic procedures, and daily clinical operations in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has medical assisting experience; dermatology exposure is a plus. Travel between our 3 locations—The Villages, Wildwood, and Clermont—will be required. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant experience.
• Dermatology experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other providers with patient examinations and dermatologic procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Obtain and document patient histories and other relevant medical information.
• Record patient information accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Prepare instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
• Assist with skin biopsies, excisions, and other dermatologic treatments as directed by the provider.
• Maintain proper infection control and sterilization procedures.
• Ensure examination rooms are properly cleaned and prepared between patients.
• Assist with patient flow to help keep appointments running efficiently.
• Provide excellent patient service and help patients feel comfortable during their visits.
• Follow office policies and established clinical procedures.
• Work collaboratively with providers and other staff members to maintain an efficient clinical environment.
