PRECISION HEALTHCARE SPECIALISTS LLC in Naples, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and patients with medical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include taking patient histories, preparing exam rooms, documenting in EMR, and coordinating appointments.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of MA experience, knowledge of medical office workflows, and proficiency with EMR and practice management software. CMA or LPN is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience of at least 2 years as a medical assistant.
  • CMA or LPN certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures.
  • Excellent time management and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients and document basic medical history including vital signs and updated medications and be able to appropriately document in the patients EMR.
  • Complete medical forms and obtain appropriate signatures. Document all activities according to defined guidelines in a timely manner by including thorough and complete information and properly identifying self on all patient records.
  • Identify abnormal assessments of findings, communicating findings to physician and document assessment findings in the appropriate format.
  • Prepare, clean and stock patient exam rooms and medical instruments.
  • Assist during medical examinations and in office procedures.
  • Follow up on patient results and communicate them with the physician.
  • Organize and schedule appointments for patients being referred for outpatient testing, physician appointment, radiology, biopsy appointments
  • Obtain referral and appropriate authorizations prior to scheduled tests
  • Update and scan medical records and insurance reports and any other documents related to the continuity of patient care.
  • Assist in the education process for the patient
  • Maintain appropriate compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and QPP documentation
  • Work closely with physicians, physician extenders and other members of the office staff to provide quality care to our patients
  • Demonstrate performance consistent with the mission and goals of the practice and organization; remain flexible to changing systems; and treat staff, physicians, patients, and visitors with consideration and respect

About this position

Description: At Advocate Radiation Oncology our mission is 'patients first'. The Medical Assistant will be one of the first points of contact to provide both medical and administrative support to patients and doctors through a variety of responsibilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • Proven work experience of at least 2 years as a medical assistant
  • Preferred: CMA or LPN
  • Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record and practice management software as well as QPP
