Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare seeks a Medical Assistant to join our team on the 2nd shift and support medical services, MAT, and client monitoring within our behavioral health settings.

The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in addiction treatment environments; CPR/First Aid preferred, CMA/CNA/CPhT certification in lieu of GED accepted, and prior MA experience valued.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required or active CMA/CNA/CPhT in lieu of GED or Diploma
  • Experience working in a drug and alcohol, behavioral health, healthcare, or residential treatment setting preferred
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support medical and MAT services through client monitoring and medical support activities
  • Obtain and document vital signs, capillary blood sugars, urine specimens, and other medical information as directed
  • Report significant changes in client condition, medical concerns, or treatment needs to appropriate clinical or nursing staff
  • Conduct toxicology screening activities, including specimen collection, documentation, processing, and communication of results to the treatment team
  • Observe and document medication dispensing activities as assigned and in accordance with organizational procedures
  • Assist with admissions documentation, records collection, and coordination of required medical information
  • Maintain unit inventory and assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring medical supplies
  • Assist with client education, medical questions, appointment follow-up, and treatment engagement activities
  • Collect and document client payments in accordance with organizational procedures
  • Collaborate with treatment team members to support client care, communication, and continuity of services
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with all company and client information
  • Complete all required training as designated by Pyramid Healthcare and applicable accreditation/licensing entities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality medical and residential treatment services.

This position plays an important role on the multidisciplinary treatment team by supporting medical services, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), client monitoring, specimen collection, documentation, and other medical-related activities.

The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a behavioral health or substance use treatment environment.

What You'll Do

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required or Active certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required in lieu of GED or Diploma
  • Experience working in a drug and alcohol, behavioral health, healthcare, or residential treatment setting preferred
  • Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred

Work Environment

This position operates in residential treatment, healthcare, behavioral health, and medication-assisted treatment environments.

Employees may interact with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, mental health concerns, withdrawal symptoms, medical conditions, and crisis situations.

The role may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, communicable illnesses, toxicology specimens, and emotionally sensitive situations. Employees are expected to follow all applicable safety, infection-control, and organizational procedures.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear and regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to handle objects, equipment, and medical supplies, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee may occasionally be required to sit, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds and seldom carry up to 50 pounds.

Compensation

$17.00 – $19.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and applicable internal compensation guidelines.
