Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ years as Medical Assistant in healthcare setting or
• One of the MA certifications at hire (CCMA CMA RMA NCMA NRCMA) or obtain within 12 months
• A nursing graduate, EMT, or Paramedic qualifies at hire with proper license/certification
• CPOE certification within 2 weeks if MA cert not obtained at hire; Basic Life Support required at hire

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
• Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
• Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
• All other duties as assigned
