Job summary

American Family Care seeks a healthcare professional to provide general medical care in an outpatient clinic setting under the direction of a licensed provider. Work occurs at a franchise location with duties and benefits that can vary between franchises.

Responsibilities include obtaining vitals, explaining procedures, ordering and performing tests, administering medications, phlebotomy, and maintaining documentation. Prior healthcare experience and CMA/AMT credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in healthcare.
  • AMT registered and CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit; prepare patient for exam.
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and timely.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments per procedure.
  • Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab or in-house processing.
  • Perform lab tests and quality controls per instructions.
  • Respond to lab messages and callbacks; conduct drug screening as required.
  • Document immunizations accurately and administer per procedures.
  • Coordinate physician referrals and pre-certifications as needed.
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments and supplies.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
  • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
