Job summary

Tampa Family Health Centers, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative functions across our care teams in Lutz, FL.

You will document patient information in EPIC, assist during exams, administer vaccines, draw blood, and help manage patient flow and follow-ups. The role requires a high school diploma, MA program diploma, and current BLS certification, with emphasis on accurate documentation, teamwork, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with Diploma.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient information accurately in the EHR (EPIC).
• Complete intake for new and returning patients.
• Prepare patients and assist providers during exams.
• Administer vaccines and perform basic clinical procedures.
• Draw blood and complete screenings as directed.
• Participate in daily huddles and support care team coordination.
• Schedule follow-ups and assist with patient flow.
• Address barriers to care and support treatment compliance.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and compliant exam rooms.
• Process and route tasks in a timely manner.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and regulatory guidelines.

Position Summary

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of 6 months of Medical Assistant experience
• Currently enrolled in a medical, nursing, or EMT program

Please note that employee's initial training schedule may differ from the regular schedule of the position. All new hires, including part‑time employees, must be available for up to 40 hours of in‑person, on‑site training during their first week. Additional Mandatory training may continue for approximately two to three weeks, depending on the position and training requirements. Training may take place at a TFHC location other than the employees assigned work location.

Shift Schedule

Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Saturday rotations required (as scheduled)
