Job summary

Advocare, LLC, a physician-owned partnership of pediatricians, family practitioners, and specialists, seeks a skilled Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and support to providers. The role combines clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This part-time position has potential to convert to full-time and requires a high school diploma and prior medical setting experience. Benefits include medical coverage, HSAs/FSAs, and PTO.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document patient histories, answer calls, and complete forms.
  • Maintain supply inventory and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Prepare patients for exams with vital signs and history summaries.
  • Set up clean treatment rooms and communicate physician instructions.
  • Provide compassionate support to patients and families.
  • Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance and assist staff as needed.

Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Part-time with Full-time potietial Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, direct patient care and support to providers and clinical staff by performing both clinical and administrative duties in a professional and efficient manner.

Advocare, LLC is a physician-owned partnership of leading pediatricians, family practitioners, and specialists in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. As a Medical Assistant, you’ll be an integral member of a forward-thinking clinical team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and service in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Medical Assistant Essential Functions:
  • Perform a wide range of administrative and clinical tasks, including obtaining and documenting patient medical histories, answering and directing phone calls, and ensuring completion of all necessary forms
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Prepare patients for examinations by conducting preliminary physical assessments, taking vital signs, and summarizing patient history for providers
  • Set up and maintain clean, organized treatment rooms for clinical examinations
  • Communicate physician instructions to patients and answer basic questions regarding treatment and care
  • Provide compassionate support and assistance to patients and their families throughout their visit
  • Ensure strict compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA and OSHA
  • Assist providers, clinical staff, and other team members as needed
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support overall clinic operations
Medical Assistant Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Solid understanding of medical procedures, administrative workflows, and organizational policies
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Proficient in a variety of administrative tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and records management
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to take initiative and demonstrate leadership when needed
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to express ideas effectively
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrates the ability to meet performance goals and deadlines consistently
Medical Assistant Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of prior experience in a medical setting preferred
