Position Overview

The Medical Assistant will play an important role in supporting our providers and ensuring patients receive an exceptional experience from check-in through completion of their visit.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment, and committed to accurate documentation and excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and professionally assist patients throughout their visit.
• Obtain and document patient medical histories, medications, and vital signs.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Assist with patient intake, chart preparation, and clinical documentation.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure charts are properly prepared before patient appointments.
• Assist with coordinating referrals, imaging, medical records, and other clinical documentation.
• Communicate professionally with patients, attorneys, referring offices, and healthcare providers when appropriate.
• Assist with follow-up calls, appointment confirmations, and reducing patient no-shows.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and appropriate supplies throughout the clinic.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and company policies and procedures.
• Assist with maintaining accurate medication and supply documentation.
• Communicate patient concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate provider or manager.
• Complete assigned clinical and administrative responsibilities accurately and within required timelines.
• Participate in daily team huddles and contribute to efficient clinic workflow.
• Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant Experience Preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Preferred

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) certification.
• Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, Personal Injury, Physical Therapy, or other outpatient medical settings.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Experience working with EMR systems.
• Experience obtaining vital signs and assisting with clinical procedures.
