Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking full-time Medical Assistants to join our primary care team in Longmeadow, MA. You will take vital signs, handle patient intake, document clinical orders, and assist with procedures in a supportive environment.

The role offers weekday schedules 8-4:30 or 8:30-5 with no weekends or holidays, located at 21 Dwight Road. Eligible candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, BLS CPR, and MA program credentials or demonstrated competencies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR-BLS for Healthcare Providers required (American Heart Association).
• MA I/II/III/IV ladder requires demonstrated competencies or formal MA program graduation.
• Credentialing through ARMA/AMT/CCMA/AAMA/NCCT or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and perform patient intake and history.
• Carry out clinical orders and procedures; document and assist with patient discharge.
• Ensure accurate charting and maintenance of medical records.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Baystate Health, Medical Assistants perform an important role providing care to our patients. They take vital signs, perform patient intake and history, clinical orders, procedures, documentation and patient discharge. Our supportive work environment allows you to provide optimal patient care.

SCHEDULE:

Full-time Mon - Fri; 8-4:30pm or 8:30-5pm

NO weekends; NO Holidays

LOCATION:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED required
• CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association required
• MAI - Graduate of an accredited MA program preferred OR demonstrated competencies of MA I (evaluated by hiring manager) with minimum 1 year experience in a medical office.
• MAII - Graduate of an accredited MA program OR demonstrated competencies of MA II (evaluated by hiring manager for level hiring for) with minimum 3 years' current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting.
• MAIII - Graduate of an accredited MA program with a minimum of 5 years' current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting preferred OR demonstrated competencies of MA III (evaluated by hiring manager) with a minimum of 5 years' current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting OR minimum of two years as an MA II at a Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies of MA III.
• MAIV - (Internal career ladder) Minimum of two years as an MA III at Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies for promotion to MA IV. Graduate of an accredited MA program and registered/certified by a third-party credential body.
• Credentialing must be awarded by a third-party credentialing body which can be obtained through: 1. Registered through Medical Assistant (ARMA) - (Minimum Requirement); 2. Registered through American Medical Technologist (AMT) association; or 3. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcare Association (NHA); or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); or 4. Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
