Baystate Health is seeking full-time Medical Assistants to join our primary care team in Longmeadow, MA. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, patient intake, and documenting clinical orders, with a supportive environment for quality patient care.

• CPR-BLS for Healthcare Provider required (American Heart Association).
• MAI: graduate of accredited MA program or demonstrated MA I with 1 year in a medical office.
• MAII: graduate of accredited MA program or demonstrated MA II with 3 years in a medical practice.
• MAIII: graduate with 5 years of experience or MA III competencies; or 2 years as MA II at Baystate Health with MA III.
• MAIV: 2 years as MA III at Baystate Health with promotion to MA IV.
• Registered/certified by ARMA, AMT, CCMA or NCMA; or other third-party credentials.
• MA program graduate and registered/certified by third-party credential body.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Baystate Health, Medical Assistants perform an important role providing care to our patients. They take vital signs, perform patient intake and history, clinical orders, procedures, documentation and patient discharge. Our supportive work environment allows you to provide optimal patient care.

SCHEDULE

Full-time Mon - Fri; 8-4:30pm or 8:30-5pm NO weekends; NO Holidays

QUALIFICATIONS

Credentialing must be awarded by a third-party credentialing body which can be obtained through:

• High School diploma or GED required
• CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association required
• MAI - Graduate of an accredited MA program preferred OR demonstrated competencies of MA I (evaluated by hiring manager) with minimum 1 year experience in a medical office.
• MAII - Graduate of an accredited MA program OR demonstrated competencies of MA II (evaluated by hiring manager for level hiring for) with minimum 3 years’ current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting.
• MAIII - Graduate of an accredited MA program with a minimum of 5 years’ current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting preferred OR demonstrated competencies of MA III (evaluated by hiring manager) with a minimum of 5 years’ current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting OR minimum of two years as an MA II at a Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies of MA III.
• MAIV - (Internal career ladder) Minimum of two years as an MA III at Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies for promotion to MA IV.
• Graduate of an accredited MA program and registered/certified by a third-party credential body.
• 1. Registered through Medical Assistant (ARMA) - (Minimum Requirement);
• 2. Registered through American Medical Technologist (AMT) association; or
• 3. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcare Association (NHA); or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); or
• 4. Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
