Job summary

Balance Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Nashville and Midtown locations, providing compassionate patient care and efficient clinical operations. You will greet patients, prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, and maintain accurate records in the EMR while upholding HIPAA standards.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of MA experience in a fast-paced outpatient setting, MS Office skills, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant in a professional outpatient practice (podiatry preferred).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPR Certification preferred.
  • Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Professional relationships with staff and providers.
  • Coordinate patient services and explain processes to patients.
  • Ability to use EMR and chart abstraction into EMR.
  • Typing to input data into Information Systems.
  • Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office.
  • Able to multi-task and adapt to changing locations.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients on-site and/or by phone in a professional manner.
  • Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares rooms for provider appointments.
  • Takes vital signs and assists with ancillary tests as directed.
  • Prepares exam rooms with necessary supplies for examinations, treatments and procedures.
  • Applies dressings, bandages, and splints as directed by providers.
  • Maintains a sanitized and safe work environment per protocols.
  • Maintains accurate patient records in the EMR.
  • Ensures HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality.
  • Coordinates services between patients, providers, and staff with professionalism.
  • Performs other medical assistant/office duties as needed.

We provide leading podiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists with operational support so they can spend their time focused on growing their business and delivering exceptional patient care.Balance Health is looking for a Medical Assistant in the Denver Metro Area to help provide excellent patient care.

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to support our Nashville and Midtown locations. The ideal candidate is compassionate, professional, detail-oriented, and committed to providing an excellent patient experience while supporting providers and maintaining efficient clinical operations. .

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets patients in a professional and friendly manner in person on site and/or via phone
  • Escorts patients to exam rooms ensuring preparation and set up is ready for provider appointments
  • Takes vital signs and may perform ancillary tests appropriate to skill level per provider guidance
  • Properly prepares exam rooms for providers, ensuring they are properly stocked with all necessary supplies for use during patient examinations, treatment, and procedures
  • Apply dressings, bandages, and splints as directed by providers
  • Ensures a sanitized and safe working environment is maintained per required protocols
  • Maintains complete and accurate patient records entering all information timely per established protocols
  • Properly maintains HIPAA compliance including strict confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills by properly coordinating and communicating services between patients, providers, coworkers, and outside entities as necessary and timely always with professionalism
  • Performs other medical assistant / office duties as needed or requested

Requirements

Requirements
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant working in a professional outpatient practice medical office (podiatry practice highly preferred)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification preferred
  • Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training and hands on relevant experience highly desired
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive/good judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision once fully trained
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations
  • Adaptable with regard to advancement of and changing technology per business needs
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with personnel at all levels within the company
  • Able to coordinate patient services, assist patients with office, medications and procedure authorizations and clearly explain processes to patients
  • Ability to use EMR and perform chart abstraction into EMR
  • Efficient typing skills requried to input various data into Information Systems
  • Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft office programs
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize and complete work
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal communication / writing skills along with a full understanding and comprehension of the English language
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and be flexible in changing work assignments sometimes on short notice, which may include decreased or increased work hours or working at a different practice location as needed to ensure business needs are properly met
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing work environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.

or any combination of academic education and professional training and development along with applied work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience in fast paced scheduling or call center
  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Experience working with performance metrics
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
