Job summary

Urology Specialists of the Carolinas is seeking a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant to join our expanding clinical team. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to patient care, teamwork, and clinical excellence.

The role involves scheduling, patient histories, vital signs, assisting providers, laboratory duties, immunizations, and medical record management within a busy urology practice in North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
• Prior experience in a medical office or specialty practice, preferably urology
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical duties in a medical setting, such as scheduling appointments, taking patient histories, and recording vital signs
• Assist healthcare providers during medical exams, including preparing exam rooms, sterilizing medical instruments, and explaining procedures to patients
• Administers medications and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers
• Conducts basic laboratory tests and performs phlebotomy procedures, including collecting and preparing specimens for testing
• Performs basic medical procedures, such as dressing changes, wound care, and suture removals
• Manages and maintains medical records, including patient charts, test results, and other important medical information
• Assists with patient education and provides information on medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventative care measures
• Answers, triages and responds timely to calls and messages
