Job summary

Urology Specialists of the Carolinas is seeking a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant to join our expanding clinical team. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to patient care, teamwork, and clinical excellence.

The position involves scheduling appointments, taking histories, recording vital signs, assisting providers during exams, sterilizing instruments, and performing basic lab tests, phlebotomy, wound care, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
• Prior experience in a medical office or specialty practice, preferably urology
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical duties in a medical setting, such as scheduling appointments, taking patient histories, and recording vital signs.
• Assist healthcare providers during medical exams, including preparing exam rooms, sterilizing medical instruments, and explaining procedures to patients.
• Administers medications and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers.
• Conducts basic laboratory tests and performs phlebotomy procedures, including collecting and preparing specimens for testing.
• Performs basic medical procedures, such as dressing changes, wound care, and suture removals.
• Manages and maintains medical records, including patient charts, test results, and other important medical information.
• Assists with patient education and provides information on medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventative care measures.
• Answers, triages and responds timely to calls and messages.
