Job summary

Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to join the Highland Family Health Center team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care while handling administrative and office tasks efficiently.

The MA will support the doctor with exams, manage charting and vitals, and perform venipuncture as required. Eligible candidates have CMA/RMA certification and MA education, with preferred prior experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant Education program.
• Certified or Registered MA or equivalent credential.
• Prior Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones in a timely, professional manner and take messages as needed.
• Demonstrate proper charting of patients and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Assist physician with office exams and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of vitals and exam room preparation.
• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you will do as a WMCHC Medical Assistant:

• Answer phones in a timely, professional manner. Forward calls or takes detailed messages as appropriate.
• Demonstrate proper and accurate charting of patients and procedures.
• Demonstrate effective knowledge of medical terminology and medical abbreviations.
• Cooperatively assist doctor with office exams and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic first aid.
• Appropriately perform/demonstrate knowledge and/or use of vitals, exam room preparation, medical/surgical aseptic techniques, patients’ rights and ethics, venipuncture, collecting specimens, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
