Qualifications

  • Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant.
  • Ability to adapt to constant change in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently or collaboratively.
  • Excellent computer skills including EMR, word processing, and Excel.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) in Pennsylvania within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patient and equipment for exams/procedures and maintains exam rooms and clinical area.
  • Performs medical history collection and medication refill per protocol.
  • Collects and prepares lab specimens and lab requisitions and schedules referrals/procedures.
  • Identifies actual or potential patient risks and communicates them to the licensed nurse or provider.
  • Adheres to clerical, clinical, and EMR workflows.
  • Completes front-office duties such as greeting patients and handling phone communications.
  • Manages co-pays, scheduling, demographics updates, referrals, and pre-certifications.
  • Delivers patient-centered care and supports related activities.
