Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant to support clinical and front desk tasks at our Health Centers in Greensboro and Winston-Salem, NC. The role requires phlebotomy and POCT experience and includes measuring vital signs, maintaining records, preparing rooms, and assisting with injections and lab work.

The position also covers administrative duties, appointment scheduling, and supply ordering, with BLS certification required and CMA/MA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy and POCT experience required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• CMA or equivalent MA certification from a recognized body.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height).
• Maintains patient health records.
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Administers medications including injections and performs lab tests; operates EKGs and other equipment as allowed.
• Performs front desk duties, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders supplies.

As aFull Time Medical Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Centers located in Greensboro and Winston Salem, NC. This position will support both clinical and front desk duties. Experience with phlebotomy and POCT required. The scheduled hours are:

Greensboro: Monday & Wednesday, 7:30am-5:00pm and every other Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm
Winston Salem: Tuesday & Thursday, 7:3am-5:00pm and every other Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
• State Lab Certificate (NV only)
• CMA certification required from the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center of Competency Testing, the National Certification Medical Association, American Medical Technologists, or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (South Carolina only)
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
