Job summary

National Spine & Pain Centers is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our team at our Fort Myers office. Responsibilities include front and back office support, taking vitals, and preparing exam and recovery rooms.

You will manage patient flow, document records, coordinate with providers, and ensure accurate charting using EMR systems. We welcome Veterans to apply; NSPC is an Equal Opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred or 2+ years clinical Medical Assisting experience.
• CMA/RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining resourceful and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate and support the needs of the Provider(s) and patients by managing daily patient flow and acting as a liaison between the Provider(s) and patients.
• Monitor clinical messages by effectively communicating information to the Provider(s) and relaying responses to patients.
• Organize, clean, and prepare exam, procedure, and recovery rooms before and after each patient.
• Take and record patients’ vitals, noting any changes or areas of concern.
• Complete documentation for patient charts by obtaining diagnostic studies, reviewing medications, allergies, and Provider orders.
• Provide patients with discharge/follow-up instructions, educational brochures, and dietary requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Anticipate and support the needs and preferences of the Provider(s) and patients by managing daily patient flow and acting as a constant liaison between the Provider(s) and patients.
• Monitor clinical messages by effectively communicating information to the Provider(s) and relaying associated responses back to patients.
• Organize, clean, and prepare exam, procedure, and recovery rooms before and after each patient.
• Take and record patients’ vitals, noting any changes or areas of concern.
• Complete documentation for patient charts by obtaining diagnostic studies (e.g., labs, X-rays, path reports, etc.); reviewing current medications, dosage, and dosage schedule; noting any allergies; and recording Provider(s’) orders and prescriptions.
• Provide patients with any needed discharge/follow-up instructions, educational brochures, and dietary requirements

Job Requirements

• A high school degree or equivalent education and training
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferredORa minimum of two (2) years of clinical Medical Assisting experience
• CMA/RMA certification preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating resourcefulness and proactivity
