Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic setting. You will prepare patients, support efficient flow, assist providers with treatments, and help with clerical tasks such as scheduling and referrals.

Responsibilities include medication administration, immunizations, specimen collection, and preparing and processing lab work while following policy and competency guidelines.

Qualifications

• Six months of MA experience or successful completion of Medical Assistant program from an accredited school.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required.
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response training (i.e. BLS).

Responsibilities

• Sign on bonus available for qualified candidates.
• Perform medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within MA scope under supervision.
• Prepare patient for rooming and exam.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations.
• Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Provide basic education to patients.
• Set up aseptic and sterile procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
