Job summary

All Together Recovery LLC (ATR) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the medical needs of clients under the direction of the APRN and/or RN on staff.

This PRN position involves medication check-in, chart maintenance, room preparation, and coordination of healthcare services for individuals in our SUD/BHSO programs, in compliance with state and federal rules.

On-call coverage may be required and the CMA will coordinate care across multiple ATR programs and locations.

Qualifications

• CrIsis intervention and conflict resolution experience a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Valid and unrestricted CMA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with medical needs under APRN/RN supervision.
• Check in medications from pharmacy and coordinate with nursing staff.
• Maintain medical logs and client charts in manual and electronic form.
• Schedule and confirm external appointments for clients.
• Prepare examination and medication rooms and handle on-call coverage as needed.
• Submit lab orders and review client drug screens.
• Upload and organize records in the medical chart.

POSITION SUMMARY:

All Together Recovery LLC (ATR), provides multiple levels of ASAM SUD/BHSO care, including recovery housing, education, job training, employment, and other recovery related extensions to the family in for-profit and non-profit environments. ATR is not a medical but recognizes that individuals participating in our programs who are recovering from addiction will also have physical health needs. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for assisting with the medical needs of clients served while under the direction of the APRN and/or RN on staff. The CMA is also responsible for assisting with coordination of healthcare for persons served in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations as well as nursing standards of care.

This position will be PRN.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIRMENTS:

1. Must have a valid Kentucky driver's license.


2. Participate in all necessary staff meetings.


3. Be proficient in all ATR rules, policies, and procedures.


4. Model servant leadership.


5. Operate with integrity in all circumstances.


6. Communicate effectively and be responsive to verbal and written correspondences.


7. Check in medications (inventory) from pharmacy delivery.


8. Facilitating medication self- administration.


9. Review client request and refer appropriately.


10. Assist with weekly nursing updates under the supervision of the RN.


11. Maintain various medical logs.


12. Schedule and confirm clients external appointments.


13. Submit lab orders and review client drug screens.


14. Maintain and update client charts in hard copy electronic form.


15. Upload paper records into the medical chart appropriately.


16. Clean and prepare examination/medication rooms as needed.


17. Answer phone calls, directing appropriately and notating messages.


18. Process appropriately requested medical records.


19. Will provide mandatory on call coverage as needed by ATR
    

BACKGROUND/EDUCATION:

1. Valid and unrestricted certificate, required.


2. Graduate of medical assistant program.


3. Prefer medical SUD background.


4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


5. Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
