Novant Health | GoHealth Urgent Care in North Carolina is seeking a Medical Assistant to support urgent care providers with clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include patient intake, vital signs, testing, phlebotomy, injections, room preparation, and EMR documentation.

This role emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered care with strong teamwork and communication; BLS is required at hire, with MA certification obtainable within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Medical Assisting program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
• Certification: CCMA/CMA/RMA/NCMA/NRCMA or equivalent; alternative credential path accepted.
• Must obtain an MA certification within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, verify insurance, and collect co-pays.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Record medical history and obtain vital signs; perform point‑of‑care testing (flu, strep, ECG).
• Phlebotomy and injections; prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms.
• Update EMR and scan documents; answer phones and handle admin tasks.
• Conduct patient follow-up and maintain reception area; complete opening/closing procedures.
