Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our podiatry practice. You will work directly with patients, supporting physicians, and being part of a team in a fast‑paced outpatient setting with hands‑on training to grow clinical skills.

You will room patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, manage records, verify insurance, and educate patients. Willingness to travel between local offices is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and procedures.
• Take vitals, update histories, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures and post‑op care.
• Provide patient instructions, education, and DME.
• Manage lab specimens, verifications, and prescriptions as directed.
• Handle postoperative calls and patient questions; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Prepare and sterilize exam rooms; manage supplies and back‑office tasks.

Job description

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. If you enjoy working directly with patients, supporting physicians, and being part of a team, we'd love to meet you!

You'll work alongside our podiatrists providing hands‑on patient care in a professional, fast‑paced outpatient setting. Hands‑on training and ongoing clinical training are provided, making this a great opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant or someone looking to grow their clinical skills.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in‑office procedures
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post‑op care, digital X‑rays, and basic podiatric services
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre‑authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
• Make post‑operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back‑office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience
• CMA or RMA certification preferred
• Experience with medical terminology
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced clinic environment

• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed
