Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • MA II requires six months MA experience or completion of an accredited MA program.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 12 months of hire.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Maintain required certifications and complete competency requirements within timeframes.

  • Perform MA procedures after competency within MA scope of work under provider supervision.
  • Prepare patient for rooming and exam.
  • Prepare and administer medications and immunizations.
  • Suture/staple removal and dressing changes.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Provide basic education to patients.
  • Set up aseptic and sterile procedures.
  • Perform office-based procedures.
  • Assist with additional procedures as determined by provider.
  • Participate in orientation of new hire MAs.
  • May perform scribe duties after PMG scribe training.

In this role, you will provide exceptional care to infants, children, adolescents, and their families while supporting providers in a fast-paced outpatient pediatric setting. This position offers a built-in career ladder, allowing qualified candidates to be considered for either the Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II level based on education and experience. Medical Assistant I employees have the opportunity to progress to Medical Assistant II through completion of required training and competency requirements. Information on MA I and MA II progression requirements is consistent with Presbyterian's Medical Assistant career ladder guidelines.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant II candidates must possess six (6) months of MA experience or have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 12 months of hire.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required.
  • Ability to maintain required certifications and complete all organizational, departmental, and position-specific competency requirements within designated timeframes.
