Job summary

American Family Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide general medical care under a licensed provider in an outpatient clinic.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history and reason for visit; prepare for physical exam.
• Ensure ordered tests are performed accurately and timely.

• Draw blood and prepare labs for processing, in-house or reference labs.
• Perform lab tests, quality controls and equipment maintenance per instructions.
• Respond to lab messages and callback requests; perform drug screening as required.
• Ensure immunizations are documented and administered per procedure.
• Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments and supplies; maintain documentation.

Job Summary

Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.

• Three 12-hour shifts and every other weekend. Time off requests can be honored if advance notice is given.

• Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
• Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
• Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
• Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
• Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
• Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation

Qualifications

• AMT-registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are required.
