Job summary

PsychPlus in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support our clinical team and ensure a patient-centered care experience. This role involves both administrative and clinical tasks to maintain smooth clinic flow.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable with EMR/EHR systems, vital signs, injections, and basic lab tasks. CMA credential preferred; start date ASAP; on-site schedule 8-5 or 9-6, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Current CMA credential preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required depending on state.
• Prior experience in a medical or behavioral health clinic preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clinical: Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Clinical: Take and record vital signs, patient history, and medical information.
• Clinical: Prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Clinical: Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
• Clinical: Perform EKGs, labs, and other diagnostic tests as applicable.
• Clinical: Support care coordination based on provider instructions.
• Administrative: Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
• Administrative: Verify insurance and patient information.
• Administrative: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems.
• Administrative: Handle patient communication, follow-ups, and call triage.
• Administrative: Manage medication refills and prior authorization requests.

1) Clinical Duties:
