At Sierra Nevada Specialty Care, we believe exceptional patient care starts with a dedicated team. We’re seeking a compassionate and organized Medical Assistant to help keep our clinic running smoothly and support both patients and providers throughout each visit.

What You’ll Do

As a Medical Assistant, you’ll blend clinical and administrative responsibilities to ensure a seamless patient experience and support provider efficiency.

Clinical Support (75%)

• Room patients promptly and accurately, record vitals, and review medications and social history to prepare the provider’s office note.

• Assist providers during exams and procedures.

• Prepare lab specimens, perform basic in-office lab tests, and sterilize medical instruments.

• Administer medications as directed and authorize prescription refills.

• Coordinate referrals and schedule tests such as x-rays, MRIs, and lab work.

Administrative Support (25%)

• Prepare and update patient charts, including collecting lab, diagnostic, and hospital admission records.

• Scan, index, and organize medical documentation from outside providers.

• Screen and route phone calls, schedule patient appointments, and assist patients and visitors with professionalism and care.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Medical Assistant or similar clinical role preferred.

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

• Skills: Well-organized, excellent multitasking and time management abilities, compassionate patient interaction, and strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping throughout the day within the clinic.

• Occasional travel to satellite clinics may be required.
