Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support at the front desk, ensuring smooth clinic operations and excellent patient service. This role requires proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and insurance verification, along with strong communication skills and a solid understanding of medical terminology and office procedures. Bilingual abilities and prior clinic experience are highly valued to enhance patient interactions and team collaboration.

Duties
  • Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in/check-out processes with professionalism.
  • Schedule appointments using EMR systems.
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate billing processes.
  • Collect payments, co-pays, and outstanding balances while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems, handle patient inquiries with excellent phone etiquette, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate filing of medical records and ensure confidentiality of health information management.
  • Support clinic operations by performing clerical tasks such as data entry, typing, filing, and using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and coordinate patient services efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient privacy at all times.
Skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone; bilingual abilities are preferred.
  • Competency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), 10 key typing skills, and familiarity with office equipment such as multi-line phones.
  • Attention to detail in documentation review and data entry to ensure accuracy in patient records and billing processes.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
