Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is hiring for a Medical Assistant to support dermatology visits in a fast-paced, patient-centric setting.

The role includes rooming patients, assisting with procedures, and managing post-op wound care, with a Monday–Friday schedule and comprehensive benefits. Must have CMA/LPN/RN or be willing to complete Forefront Derm Tech certification within specified terms.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus.
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment.
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems.
• Must possess organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as biopsies, Mohs surgery, phototherapy, injections, etc.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients

• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
