Job summary

Spero Health, Inc. in Indiana is seeking a Medical Assistant to join an integrated care team delivering counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment.

You will handle scheduling, patient check-in/out, vitals, and medication documentation, while supporting physicians and interdisciplinary staff in a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program is preferred.
• 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• CPR certification must be obtained and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments.
• Answer incoming calls and check voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out and monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, take vitals, assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in patient medications as directed by the physician.
• Input accurate patient information into the electronic health record (EHR).
• Send prior authorizations to insurance companies.
• Perform daily financial summaries and balance payments received.
• Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
• Provide education and resource information regarding medications.

The Medical Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

Education:

Experience:

• 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
• Experience with injections preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
