Job summary

Seale Harris Clinic in Birmingham, located on the St. Vincent's campus, seeks a Medical Assistant to support our physicians in delivering high-quality primary care.

This full-time position is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with no weekends and limited overtime as needed to cover patient care. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications in the EMR, administering injections, performing EKGs and retinal exams, sterilizing equipment, and relaying

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CCMA certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining vital sign measurements using manual and automatic devices.
• Recording patient complaints, history, and active medication list into the EMR.
• Adhering to HIPAA regulations regarding protected health information (PHI).
• Administering injections as directed by the physician.
• Performing EKGs and diabetic retinal exams.
• Sterilizing equipment and exam rooms.
• Relaying results and instructions from the physician to a patient, as well as documenting those messages in the patient’s medical record.

Job Summary

We are a large, privately owned, primary care practice located on the campus of St. Vincent's in Birmingham. Our medical assistants work hand in hand with our physicians to maintain the best care possible for our patients.

Education And Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. CCMA certification is preferred, but not required.

Either CCMA certification or experience in the medical field is required.
