Complete-Health in Birmingham, AL is seeking a PRN Part-Time Medical Assistant who travels between West Birmingham, Adamsville, Gardendale, Fultondale and Homewood. You will support clinical teams, greet patients, schedule visits, check in/out, and verify insurance.

Qualifications

• Greet patients and assist with check-in/out and scheduling.
• Enter data into EMR and verify insurance as needed.
• Ability to travel between multiple locations.
• Strong patient service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and accurately takes vital signs and records in EMR.
• Prepares exam rooms and stocks supplies.
• Hands instruments to providers and assists during procedures.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Performs basic tests as ordered (EKG, urinalysis, strep, flu, covid, pregnancy).
• Administers injections per provider orders.

Job Description

Schedule: This position is PRN so days/hours per week will vary. Typical clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Location: Must be able to travel between the following areas - West Birmingham, Adamsville, Gardendale, Fultondale, and Homewood

Pay Range: $16.80-22.85 per hour, dependent on experience and certification status + mileage

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of healthcare providers and serves patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; maintaining records and accounts, checking in and checking out patients, collecting payment and verifying insurance as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Interviews patients, accurately takes vital signs such as: manual BP, pulse rate, temperature, 02 level, weight and height, and properly records information into EMR.
• Prepares exam rooms for examination of patients as well as stocking them.
• Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed for certain procedure .
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Performs EKG's, urinalysis, strep test, flu test, covid test, mono test, pregnancy test, checks patients A1C, etc.
• Gives injections per providers orders (intramuscular, intradermal, subcutaneous).
