Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills OR a minimum of one year of experience in MA/related roles performing direct patient care.
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90 days.
• One of CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA MA certifications required within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of the clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure delivery of high-quality care.
• Provide direct patient care and assist clinicians in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
• Contribute to patient education, documentation, and smooth clinical operations.

There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you’ll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You’ll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
