Job summary

Cape Cod Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine (CCOSM) in Massachusetts seeks a Medical Assistant to support multiple clinical teams with direct patient care and administrative duties across Hyannis, Sandwich and Falmouth.

Responsibilities include collecting histories and vitals in the EHR, inputting information, setting up injections, triaging calls, keeping exam rooms stocked, and performing other tasks as directed by providers and the Clinical Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Medical Assistant credential or equivalent (certified or non-certified), CNA or ATC acceptable.
• Willingness to perform both patient-care and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as needed and act as first contact with patients.
• Input medical histories, vitals, medications into EHR.
• Set up and assist with injections.
• Triage patient calls.
• Maintain exam rooms and biosafety items.
• Complete other duties assigned by providers and Clinical Manager.

Medical Assistant

Position Type: Full-Time

Location(s): Hyannis, Sandwich & Falmouth

Job Description

• Coverage as needed for different clinical teams (direct patient care and/or administrative)
• Act as first contact with patients in clinical areas.
• Obtain and input (via EHR) medical histories, vitals, medications and Meaningful Use Information (MIP).
• Set up injections, assist with injections, if required.
• Field, triage and address patient calls.
• Daily maintenance of exam rooms stock, biohazard bins & sharps containers.
• Complete other duties assigned by providers and Clinical Manager.

Physical Requirement

• Ability to walk and stand continuously for at least four hours.
• Ability to transfer patient from wheelchair to exam table or chair, if necessary.
• Ability to lift and hold limbs as needed.
