Job summary

Westlake Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, Monday-Friday role at our Southwest Parkway location in Austin, TX. The position requires assisting the physician with patient care, including history taking and consents, and supporting cosmetic procedures.

Dermatology experience is preferred, with strong attention to detail and excellent customer service. The candidate should have a high school diploma plus a Medical Assistant program or college degree, and may hold MA

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with patient care, including taking history, chief complaint, and consents
• Assist with cosmetic procedures (Botox, fillers, etc.)
• Prepare exam rooms and escort patients to rooms
• Prepare patients for provider and educate on aftercare protocols
• Perform and document EHR charting and maintain room stock and turnover
• Review and manage schedule to ensure appointments and supplies are available

Westlake Dermatology has an immediate opening for a Full-Time, Monday-Friday Medical Assistant to work with a provider at our Southwest Parkway location. Candidate must have great attention to detail and excellent customer service skills; must have the ability to multi-task; and prior EHR (EMA) experience is a plus. Prior dermatology or plastic surgery experience is preferred.

Job Description

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician with patient care, including obtaining history, chief complaint, and consents; assisting with cosmetic procedures (including Botox, fillers, etc.); preparing exam rooms; escorting patients to room; preparing them for provider; and assisting in patient education regarding aftercare protocols and what to expect after treatment. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, EHR charting, stocking of rooms, and turnover of rooms. Medical Assistant is responsible for reviewing and managing schedule to ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately and supplies needed for procedure are available.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma plus either completion of a college degree or a Medical Assistant program required
• Medical assistant certification is preferred
• 1-2 years of prior experience in a dermatology orcosmetic/surgical clinic setting working as a medical assistant or clinical assistant preferred
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment
• Well-organized with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Empathetic with patient needs and concerns
• Ability to work well with provider, anticipating their needs in regard to patient treatment
• Knowledge of medical and skin care terminology
• Proficient with general computer skills
• Able to stand for long periods of time

Job Type: full-time

Compensation:$18.00 - $20 per hour (plus benefits and 401K options for full-time employees)
