Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA/CLIA guidelines, universal precautions and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Take patient histories and explain procedures clearly.
• Record vital signs and perform ECGs where needed.
• Collect and prepare lab specimens and perform in-office tests.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Assist physicians during examinations and support patient education.

Job description

We are seeking a reliableMedical Assistant to join our clinical team in Amherst, MA. This full-time rolesupports day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring smooth patient flow andhigh-quality care. The ideal candidate is experienced in outpatient settings and comfortable working within a team-basedenvironment. Flexibility to provide occasional coverage at nearby clinics isappreciated.

Location:

Cross coverage between 2 clinics; Amherst/Northampton, MA

Schedule:

40 hours/week

Clinic Hours:

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation:

$22– $24 per hour, based on experience

Clinical Duties (mayinclude, but are not limited to):

• Taking patient medicalhistories and explaining treatment procedures
• Performing vital signs andEKGs
• Collecting and preparing labspecimens; performing in-office lab tests
• Sterilizing instruments andmaintaining exam room cleanliness
• Administering injections,vaccinations, and medications as directed by a licensed provider
• Assisting physicians duringpatient examinations
• Changing dressings andproviding basic wound care
• Transmitting prescriptionrefill requests as directed
• Accurately documenting inElectronic Medical Records, preferably eClinicalWorks
• Supporting patient educationand communicating clearly
• Front office coverage as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma orequivalent required
• Completion of a MedicalAssisting program preferred
• Medical Assisting certification
• Prior experience as aMedical Assistant in a clinical setting
• Knowledge of OSHA/CLIAguidelines, universal precautions, and infection control protocols
• Familiarity witheClinicalWorks or similar EMR systems highly desirable
• Current CPR certification
