Foot and Ankle Specialists of Illinois (FASI) is hiring an experienced Medical Assistant for our busy, patient-focused medical and surgical podiatry practice.

This is a hands‑on clinical role supporting physicians, helping maintain efficient patient flow, and delivering excellent patient care in a fast‑paced outpatient setting. The right candidate will be organized, dependable, clinically confident, and comfortable working side by side with physicians, medical assistants, front desk, billing, and management.

What You’ll Do

Own the Clinical Flow: Room patients, prepare charts, update histories, document visit information, and help keep the clinic moving efficiently throughout the day.

Support Providers Directly: Assist physicians during exams, procedures, wound care, injections, casting, splinting, DME dispensing, and other in‑office treatments.

Take Accurate Clinical Information: Take vitals, review medications, obtain medical histories, confirm the reason for visit, and document accurately in the EMR.

Command the EMR: Use ModMed EMR and other technology platforms to document visits, input clinical data, prepare orders, upload forms, and support follow‑up tasks.

Prepare and Maintain Exam Rooms: Clean, stock, and prepare rooms between patients while keeping supplies, instruments, and equipment organized.

Educate Patients with Clarity: Reinforce provider instructions, explain treatment plans, review next steps, and help patients feel informed and comfortable.

Maintain HIPAA‑Compliant Documentation: Ensure clinical documentation is accurate, timely, organized, and compliant with privacy requirements.

Coordinate with the Team: Work closely with physicians, front desk, billing, and management to support patient flow, scheduling, DME, procedures, and follow‑up care.

Elevate the Patient Experience: Communicate clearly, anticipate patient needs, and help create a calm, professional, and caring environment from start to finish.

Improve the Process: Spot inefficiencies, communicate issues early, and help improve clinical workflows as the practice grows.

What You Bring

3+ Years of Medical Assistant Experience: Prior experience in a fast‑paced medical office, outpatient clinic, or procedural practice is strongly preferred.

Clinical or Private Practice Experience: Experience in a clinical outpatient setting is required; private practice experience is preferred.

Procedural Comfort: Comfortable rooming patients, assisting providers, documenting visits, preparing exam rooms, and supporting in‑office procedures.

Podiatry or Orthopedic Experience Preferred: Prior podiatry, orthopedic, dermatology, wound care, urgent care, chiropractic, PT, or other procedural specialty experience is a plus.

EMR/EHR Experience: Experience with EMRs such as ModMed, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Epic, Athena, or similar systems preferred.

Tech Savvy: Ability to learn ModMed EMR and our other technology platforms within 30 days of hire.

Strong Communication Skills: Able to communicate professionally with patients, physicians, clinical staff, front desk, billing, and management.

Highly Organized: Able to manage multiple priorities, stay on task, follow through, and maintain accuracy during busy clinic days.

Attention to Detail: Accurate with documentation, patient instructions, orders, supplies, and clinical follow‑through.

Composure Under Pressure: Calm, professional, and patient‑focused even during high‑volume clinic flow.

Service‑First Attitude: You anticipate needs, think ahead, and prioritize both patient care and provider support.

Ownership Mentality: You do not just complete tasks — you look for ways to improve the workflow, support the team, and make the day run better.

CCMA certification or equivalent medical assistant certification preferred.

CPR certification preferred.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.
